“In the name of the Father, and of the Son…”

Have mercy on me, O God, in your goodness; in the greatness of your compassion wipe out my offense. Thoroughly wash me from my guilt and of my sin cleanse me.

Last week, we prayed about the many ways sin has ruined God’s good Creation. This week, we remember that sin is personal. All of us have sinned. Sin not only ruptures our friendship with God, but it hurts others around us, especially the people we love most.

Discuss:

Tell about a time you felt bad about doing something you knew was wrong. Why was it wrong? Who was hurt because of it? (Parents, now is a good time to be open. Your children will follow your example. It can help kids to know their parents struggle too.)
