“In the name of the Father, and of the Son…”
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.Psalm 34:18
Many times, because of the sins of others or our own sin, our spirits are crushed. We live with deep wounds in our hearts that cause us to believe things that are not true. That maybe we were a mistake, or that maybe God does not love us, or that we do not deserve to be loved.
Parents start. Tell about a false belief you had about yourself (for example, “I thought I was a bad person because my friend rejected me,” or “…because I had trouble at work”), and then explain that you know it is false, because you know God’s love. You can even repeat the Bible verse for this week. After the parents, others in the family can share.
“Our Father, who art in heaven…”
